Just curious, what the TBN member mindset would be on making farm equipment purchases on Amazon. Ken Sweet

Depends on the brand, the price and if I can get parts for it. My next implement is going to be a five foot rototiller. I also want a pull behind fertilizer spreader. They have both at Atwoods for a good price, but no support and not a brand that is at the top of my list. It's pretty hard to beat Amazon, but even if they don't have the best price, their reviews are always very helpful.

Price, quality, shipping cost, return policy, user reviews, credit card data security, are all factors for purchasing anywhere; esp. online. If Amazon can do better in these aspects than others, then I would have no issues purchasing heavy farm equipment from them.

I am a big user of Amazon.Don't need any implements myself but believe it would be a great place for any business.A lot of exposure.

Seems to me it would be difficult to deliver a farm implement via tiny drones.:)

All seriousness, if I saw an implement I wanted on Amazon, I would then go directly to the store's website to see if it was less expensive at the store. I'd rather buy larger stuff directly from the store than go through Amazon.

How does Amazon differ from e-bay? They are both large on-line retailers peddling stuff around the world.

I used to be a big user of Amazon, got disgusted with them & don't buy anything from them now.

Amazon does have stuff they stock and deliver, but lots of times Amazon is just a store front and search engine and a money collector for the store.
I'd have no problem buying an implement off Amazon.

I think we buy everything else but food at Amazon so why not?
In my day job I work with a lot of consumer products companies, and most if not all now sell their goods through Amazon.
I have never heard anything negative about doing business with them, I'd say rock on Ken if it makes good business sense for you.

Ken,
I'd consider it, as long as they don't use a drone to drop ship a ballast box ...
If I'm buying an implement, that's a little different from buying a book (the kind with pages that don't need a battery to read).
I'd like to know who the seller is, and what that seller's reputation is for addressing any problems with the item delivered.
