Well I finally decided on a truck. My F-350 with 330+ thousand miles will be sitting on the back burner for the rest of its life.I found a 2006 Chevrolet 2500hd with 60,000 miles that I had to have. Its got the 6.0 vortec with the 4.10 axle. Im happy. Pics to come later

Was your last truck a diesel?

Yes it was. I loved it but I do not trust any of the new diesels of any brand.

The 6.0 and 4.10s make a fine truck. I have had three, current truck has 3.73. I like 4.10 better. It would flat out pull. Keep the rubber side down.

Along with the 8 mpg they will get with it. Personally I am getting tired of hearing my friends tow trailers twice the weight of mine getting 50% better mileage, and climbing hills like they weren't there.

But that's just me.

For the OP congrats on your "new to you" truck. I hope it serves you for many years to come. Nothing wrong with a powerful gas truck, their good vehicles.

If you had a Ford truck with 330,000 miles on it -I would think you would want something like it again. Course if you look in my driveway you will find four different companies represented. So with that I say good night.

I have one, too. I really like it.

If you tow a lot, I would recommend a diesel. If you tow intermittently it's the ideal truck. When something goes wrong, parts are cheaper. I remember when diesel was cheaper than gas. That's when having a diesel was worth it if you did not tow much.

The OP has an excellent point about not trusting new diesels. Many of the highway departments around me have had so many problems with diesels, that they only buy gas one tons now. Personally, I'd sooner spend more on fuel, and less on major breakdowns. Plus gas oil changes are half the price.
