Keen Kutter 3bladed. Good cutting and with three blades you can always keep a good one back.

Mostly I just carry a cheap Buck three-blade pocket knife, the smaller size. I don't like anything bulky in my pockets. I always carry a knife, but personally I have so little occasion to use it that I've never seen fit to spend more than 15 or 20 dollars for one. Actually, all my current knives were gifts.

My dad always taught me that one blade is for food, one is a pry bar/screwdriver, and one is for general cutting.

Regarding possibly needing spacers to make room for chains, make sure your wheels are configured for their wide setting first. Most tractor wheels can be set for several different widths.

I've been carrying a pocket knife since I was 6 years old. For many many years I preferred a 3 blade Case knife, but a few years ago I lost one, and since I seldom use one anymore, my current pocket knife is a small, lightweight, 2 blade Buck.

I don't carry one much any more; got out of the habit when I had to wear a suit every day. When I do, I have a small 2 bladed "Old Timer" with Carbon Steel blades that I carry...and yes, I hate the SS blades because I can't seem to get them sharp. I do have a big lock-back Old Timer that I carry in my truck; seems there's always a need for it, like cutting a tie-down rope.

Started collecting knives a few years back when we made the flea markets regularly; finally decided my drawer had enough knives in it, so I gave all of the high quality German made knives to my Grand kids...but I do have enough Case knives and others to last me forever. Oh, I also have about a 24" Kukuri that I keep around on the old Secretary desk; too big to carry, but makes a nice conversation piece.

I carry an old German Eye Jim Bowie three blade, good carbon steel, takes and holds an edge real well. I also carry a new model S&W auto for the rough cutting jobs, saves the edges on the Jim Bowie.

Thanks for the replies. I don't understand the one about wheel spacing. I try to be very practical and sought out the swayback jack pat. because of the size and blade for hog castration. The stockman three blade felt a little bulky and trapper is way to long. So that knife is very purpose specific. I also have throw away scalpels and box cutters but really prefer the knife.
I have a lot of buck knives laying around. They are a pain to sharpen.
The German Eye brand is very cool in my opinion. I really like their yellow handles.

Which blade do you use for castration? Although my experience is limited, I was of the opinion that the rounded blade, such as you find on the Trapper was better.
