Snow Equipment Owning/Operating how many are ready for snow in the northeast..........

Have 4" on the ground at 9 am here in SW Mi. they say 2-3 more on the way. Been ready, to much green around my unit. Fueled and ready and heat in the cab.

We probably already have about a foot or so at the cottage, and it is still snowing. Plow is on the ATV, and blower is on the tractor. Can't wait!

Ready?? I'm praying that we get dumped on! Last year was the first I had a cab in the 24 years we lived here being out on an open tractor. Since the cab was completed we haven't had one plowable snow (but I did rush out and scrape before it melted). Earlier this week there was all of 2 or 3 inches left to play in till I got home from work.

The tractor is ready and there's an extra 15 gallons of treated diesel in the shed. No two forecasts match so it's a wait and see. Doesn't sound like we'll get nearly enough but any snow before Christmas is a bonus here.

Already got ours! Inland along the "upper elevations" of north shore of Lake Superior snowed for 60 hours with totals in our area between 36" to 40"+ part light snow with some heavy stuff mixed in at times…ah the "lake effect". Sure has laid a nice "base" in the woods for the winter Have a neighbor that keeps our U driveway plowed and he is already having problem finding place to put the snow and real tough back pulling in spots so I ended up shoveling a lot more than I enjoy. Good news is that he has a large loader he can come and move the piles back if he has to. After snow stopped temps dropped to -20F with much worse wind chills. This much snow in early December usually means a long winter with much more snow to come. Better than bare ground and -20 to -30F...that raises problems with everything with the deep ground freeze.

Lots of Maine folks on here, I am in Alfred, tracking for 12 inches tonight. Going out to run the generator for a while this morning, and put the blower on the tractor. Chains are already on, first time I will use them. Also plenty of firewood inside. Be safe everybody.

Here in CT were expecting 6-8 and This is the first storm with my new old recond. plow. Bring it on
