Not really my point. I'm not talking about gay marriage, I'm talking about how probably 90% of movies, Tv shows, and news programs are filmed, or produced in two small parts of a huge country. they try to control and contort public values to what they already have in their home base.

Currently the largest filmmaking hub is Louisiana. At least for movies. Atlanta is #2, LA 3.

If true, I stand corrected. Im willing to be wrong. I do however stand by the statement that they are trying to convince people that their views are the norm and majority.

Hardly (get a clue)...They are REAL characters...NOT actors...are all of their antics realistic?...certainly not but what has made this show (and the characters) so popular is they are naturally entertaining and extoll the morals and family values that have been declining in America...

Actually pine you need a clue. As you have stood proudly hollering that media manipulates, you need to trust your instincts and realize while these are "real" people, there is a vast army of entertainment professionals behind them manipulating their message. Yes, they are entertaining (well, not to me but clearly to a lot of people), and they do extoll certain moral and family values, but those are the ones we as the media choose to show you. In the end they are actors, maybe not in the classic sense, but what you see on TV is a heavily edited for performance and story It is also very suggested, if not scripted, show.

And where are their unions based?

Well, of course there are the local branches which represent 90% of the employees (local lousiana unions) but they are tied to IATSE which has its major offices in NY and LA. But IATSE is just a division of AFL-CIO. Honestly don't know where AFL is based, New York?

Not sure what the union has to do with this but still listening...

He has no right to sue A&E. He was fired because he did something that the company found offensive. No different than a person who puts drivetrains in cars saying something derogatory while on the company line.

The difference is he is doing this on his own time. The interview on GQ was him talking about his beliefs. If he was on the show and wouldn't co-operate because he was trying to spread his own agenda then he should be fired. Yes he probably signed some kind of contract that he would not bring dishonor to the show (whatever definition that show deems appropriate) - then the consequences of his suspension make sense.

I just have a problem with any employer suspending someone based on beliefs - especially religious beliefs as long as those beliefs don't rise to a level of harm to another group.

Hope we don't have to worry about our employers disagreeing with our posts if done on our own time.

Geeze...you really are full of yourself...

First off I never said the media "manipulates"...YOU said that...

secondly..."we as the media"... (huge belly laugh)...as for getting a clue...a media mogul like yourself should realize that it is the advertisers that "choose" what they sponsor...it is the advertisers that write the checks and pull the strings...media personnel are nothing but puppets...

The main reason A&E did what they did was fear of losing sponsors as a network... duh...!
