1968 ford 3500 no pto

Hi I'm new this forum but I'll give it a shot. I have a 1968 ford 3500 industrial tractor. Has a 3 point hitch but no pto. How would I run a mower or other attachment. Could I add a pto? Thanks Ben.

Not practical to add a PTO, you'd have to change out from transmission Back. You could add Hydraulic drive motors but that can get costly.

We're would I tie the hyd controls into.
Can I put a out put shaft in the spot in the rear of the tractor.

That's a pretty old tractor and parts may not be readily available...and if a PTO wasn't an option when the machine was new...well, adding a PTO drive is not feasible. Nothing is impossible, but I'm sure it would cost more then the tractor is worth.

I bought an entire rear end (PTO, 3 point, brake to brake) for converting mine.. Paid $600.

You could use a PTO motor, and even make a motor mount on each implement so you wouldn't need a PTO shaft.

Thank you. I think ill use a hyd motor with controls. Just don't know where to tied them into the tractor hyd system. Thanks Ben

You would supply the pto valve first from the loader pump. Then, PB from the pto valve to the loader valve. IIRC, the pump should be somewhere around 17gpm for the loader. You could probably get everything you need from surplus center.
