Just brought home a used Curtis hard sided cab for my X595. I'm looking forward to getting it on, and moving some snow this winter in a nice warm tractor!

Anyway does anyone know where I can find installation instructions or does anyone have them that they can send me? I don't know where to find them online. Thanks in advance

I contacted the guy I bought it from and he is going to ship the floor board brackets to me.
I'm going to wait till I get them installed since I need to drill holes for the cab to attach.

Hopefully this weekend I will make some progress on it. I will keep you posted

I know Curtis Cab has a website, perhaps they have Owner Manuals and/or tech support?

I left mine when I sold my JD 445 this spring so no help here. In fact, I will be shopping for another next winter for my new JD 1026R.

In the meantime I'll send my boys out in the snow & wind!

Well I got the cab on the tractor last night. It fits real nice can't wait for the snow to fly.
However I'm not sure where to hook up the heater lines on the engine, is there anybody that could be some help?

Here's a pic with the cab on

Very Nice... well done!!

On the heater.... haven't done one myself, and not sure what kind of heater you have (sounds like just uses engine coolant routed through heater like mine), but the 455 I just acquired with a heater in the cab is done as follows:

Note: you'll likely have to drain/collect coolant for duration until connections replaced.

1) Heater was installed in desired location (front center roof of cab, above and in front of driver)
2) 2 hoses with both a shut -off valve and a connector nipple (double male) on each
3) Engine coolant out/in lines replaced with longer hose which reaches around front outside of hood at frame height.
4) Line from 3 above has same nipple setup in center without shut-off valves.
5) To connect heater, disconnect center of hose in 3 above and connect each end to heater hose ends in 2 above.
6) Open shut-off valves in 2 above and use heater.

Note: when heater not required, disconnect from heater and re-connect in front of hood at frame, use tie-wraps to secure in place and away from moving parts or potential crush areas.

The only concern I have with this setup, and perhaps why quick/connects were not used, is that the joint inside the cab (about half-way up the corner post with tie-wraps hold in place) are in the perfect place to get your face with super hot liquid should the joint ever fail. Perhaps not a serious concern though.

I haven't actually made the "heated" connection yet but that's how it is setup. I might just connect it tomorrow, getting a tad cold here these days.

Let me know if you'd like a few pics. Also, pics of wiring setup if needed - the wiring was half-a55ed so I just redid the clips, plan to add a toggle bar for heater, beacon and signal lights soon.

Hope it helps, good luck!

Is the cab and heater easy to take on and off for cold in winter and or move the cab in the summer?

Well, no - it takes about 4 hours to install or remove. Need to crane lift it on & off, lots of bolts, heater hose connections, electric connections, etc. One plus, don't need chains with 4WD with moderate slopes. So there is about a half hour saved.

For moving around, I made a 4 wheel dolly cart & stored the cab on it. Easy to wheel around the barn that way.

now that you have it assembled, it is pretty easy to remove. i unbolt the front and side bolts,
leaving the rear ones in, then roll the cab back pivoting on the rear 2 larger bolts. i then stand mine
upside down on a dolly. i don't have a heater though, just a wiper and work lights that need wires
hooked up. some use quick connects for the coolant hoses, keeps the system full when the
heater is unhooked.
