i think you will find that endemic to ALL dadge ram dash's

he apparently has never seen a dash problem, ever.. on a dodge...
Dude, listen to me, please.
I said my Dodge Rams did not have a problem.
In one of your posts, you made the statement "all"
Just so you don't misunderstand, my 4 Dodge Rams never had a problem.

laugh or not. search the internet. I'm not the only one who see's it. every dodge ram from that era i've seen has a cracked dash. keep in mind. florida is probably a different climate than ill. 11m 29 days of sun shine

That is the main difference, we only have about 29 days of sunshine here. Lol. Actually I have a very good friend that used to live in SC (moved here to PA two years ago) that told me 80% (his guess) of vehicles over five years old there had cracked dashes. It was just too hot.

I don't know this for a fact, but I'm guessing the D-max would not have been competitive in this testing at all.

Once you get to the 15,000lb range the d-max [unless modified] was less than impressive to me. CJ
I wouldn't bet on it. The only disadvantage the duramax has is its 3.73 ratio.swap that to 4.30 to match the ford and my money's on the Dmax.the duramax is underrated...it's at least 425 /825 already.most 11 dmaxes dyno out at 350 375 stock at the wheels....the ford is rated right on the money...as is the dodge.

With these tests the one thing Dodge has the upper hand with it the cummins engine..it's just stronger and built heavier...it's a true medium duty engine and can handle more loading than either v8 diesel from Ford or GM,it never mattered much with the relatively low trailer ratings but you watch the 6.7 scorpion is a good engine, but there pushing it at 40k gcwr, and it will never hold up as well as the 6.7 cummins all other things being equal...as evidence dodge has a 37600 gcwr with a 4.10 axle...all they need to do is add a 4.30 option to top 40k...ford needs a 4.30 to get to 33k....don't believe me go on YouTube and watch all th f450/550 engine failures with the 6.7 ..there cracking valves and eating pistons....many failures at low mileage with proper maintenance...the heavier trucks will push the ford 6.7 to an early grave..

Well I have to admit, I'm a Ford guy. Bought a lot of class 8 Louisvilles for my company back in the old days and have owned nothing but Ford products-other than green tractors. I myself hear nothing but good things about the 6.7 Scorpion but have to agree with you on the durability of the 6.7 Cummins. Look at it this way-what is the only diesel engine that Ford uses in the 650/750-and up to 37,000lb GVW? The Cummins 6.7.

In any case, I truly believe that the true differences between the D-Max, PStroke 6.7 and the Cummins don't amount to a great deal.

You talk to owners of the newer Cat emission engines [C13-C15] and you may need to dodge a few rocks that are heaved at you! Terrible mileage and if you don't put the truck into regen when it wants to do it, it will shut down and you have to get it towed to the dealer for a reset. They have been poor for the oilfields at best. These trucks have to sit and run all day at 1200rpm and the new emission crap does not allow for that. CJ

A friend went from getting 8 mpg with his 1990 Freightliner log grapple truck w/Series 60 Detroit to 4 mpg with his 2008 Freightliner w/C15.

But... we are some how saving the environment by burning more fuel to do the same amount of work. I still don't understand their (EPA) brand of math.

I'm not saying the D-Max doesn't make the power, I'm saying I don't think it rated to haul the load the Ford and the Dodge had behind them for the test.

I believe they didn't use the duramax because the 14 was not rated as height as the dodge and ford and the 15 was not ready yet.

ALL is a rather bold statement. I guess my 97 was lucky since the dash didn't crack in the 11 years when I sold it and as of a couple months ago still hadn't cracked.

Ya, I laughed when I read that statement.
I had a new 94/96/98, and a new 2001, no dash cracking what so ever.
Florida vs the north.
