Ford 450 vs Ram 3500

Noticed some talk here about plastic interiors. My 08 Sierra SLT can't hold a candle to the creature comforts of my Dad's 1972 Delta 88. Just Plastic JUNK. Woudn't be so bad if the price reflected that. I suppose it has something to do with recycling. Glue some carpet onto a door panel and you've created a recycling issue!

I was at my mechanics lately who have no particular brand loyalty. As far as Diesels go, they said Ford is the most complicated, Dodge seems to have the best engine but said the Dodge won't drive down the road like my GMC. Apparently you fight to keep the Dodge goin in a straight line.

I'm kind of interested in that new Dodge 3 litre Diesel, especially if they put it in the Dakota.

They stopped making the Dakota a few years back.

Are you serious? Had two of them, a 94 and 2000. Loved them, but they loved fuel. Both 6 and 8 were about the same! I see so many of them so I never knew they were out of manufacture!

Should buy an old one and put a single cylinder Lister under the hood! Might need a hood scoop type of thing to accomodate the flywheel!

The small to mid size pickups stopped selling. As far as I know the only Amercan made would be the Colorado.

The 6.7L Ford does NOT hold up well in C&C applications.

What happens to them? are they cooking them? I have a good customer who is replacing 450's with 7.3's but the only engine I can get in a Terrastar is a International Max 7 and I know nothing about them. CJ

we have had horrible luck out of them since getting our first ones in mid 2010. Of the 13 we have, the first 9 blew the engines under 50K miles, 8 2011 models and one 2012 model.
Several have had injection pump/injector failures, all 13 have had multiple turbo failures. 3 have had transmission rebuilds under 50K miles. Boost tubes break so often that we all have a spare on our trucks. Now we are starting to see DEF pump failures and DPF/DOC failures that require replacement. My truck now has 90K miles on it.
The 6.7L I am referring to is the FORD 6.7L, its not an International/Navistar design but an in-house Ford design.

My 2007 Tundra was made in Princeton IN, now all the Tundras at the San Antonio TX plant. The 5.7 V8 is made in Huntsville AL.

Wow! With an experience factor you are having, its a wonder Ford is still in business. Just what is the application these trucks of yours are in?
What is even more amazing, after the first nine blew their motors at under 50k, you bought four more?
