Is a Branson 4520R a good tractor?

I would dare guess that the Cummins connection could rank them higher on the quality list than some other up and coming manufacturers. I would like to hear more about them.

Actually it was the nudge that sealed the deal. The Cummins badge is on the cowling. Komatsu builds heavy equipment (as Kukje) and in US construction sites you will usually see Cat and Koms at work side by side. If you www the subject at Komatsu you will read that they are under license from Cummins to build some of their engines. They built mine and I have data to prove it.

My tractor is a 6530C with the Cummins 3.3L (200 cu in) naturally aspired, direct injected 4 cyl. The NA suffix on the model number is for North America consumption. They currently make a 6600c series Branson tractor, 6630 I believe, which replaces my model but it has a different engine. Have no idea as to how that works or why the upgrade. Mine has been a wise investment.

I certainly have seen a lot of Komatsu units on heavy constructions sites, they are all over the place. Huge Japanese corporation, I found Kukje, a Korean company since 1968, but what is the linkage between the two? Isn't Kukje making some of Deere's equipment now or did they in the past?

I doubt it. They have a relationship with Hitachi but none with Komatsu that I know of.

Kukje has manufactured and distributed some John Deere tractors since 1987....since some people are claiming other folks don't do research, and then post incorrect stuff themselves.

If you pull up the www on Kukje and diddle around in it, they list the tractors they make besides Branson. There are several colors that are popular. I know not who makes which engine. As you read around the Cummins license has been spread around from time to time, engine to engine. The Cummins A engine has been pretty well covered on this site. Not much on the B which is the larger engine. Why Komatsu in Japan I don't know since some of my reading pointed to Kukje obtaining manufacturing license permission from Cummins. No idea as to engine or time frame.

One thing that is certain is that Kukje is ISO 9000 certified. Basically that international cert. is earned by only the top mfgrs. Says they do things right and all that. When in industry we worked for a couple of years to get our plant up to shape to qualify for that cert. and we made it. It is a feather in your cap. Basically it says you mfgr. a quality product (product meets design specks), stand behind it, and don't cut corners. Google ISO 9000 and read up on what Wikipedia says about it.

Well sir you just "don't know of". www has info on Cummins, Kukje, and Komatsu Japan relationship with Cummins. I have an engine data sticker on the side of my Cummins. If I could get my digital camera in close enough to prove it to you, if I cared, I could show it to you in engraved aluminum. As far as Hitachi, you can produce some data to corroborate that statement. Or are you just running your mouth as a lot of folks do?

Mark, why the anger? We're just talking tractors here, not politics or religion.

Just curious if Branson tractors are good why is the resale on the 6530C I found on Tractorhouse so low for a MFWD cab loader tractor?

They're just not as mainstream or well known as some of the other brands ... just like a used Montana (built by LS) can be found with low hours for really cheap as well.

Kioti resale is climbing as they become more of a mainstay ... and hopefully LS does as well.

I don't think it has much to do with "how good" a tractor is. I doubt a competing JD, Kubota, NH, (etc) tractor is any more reliable than Branson, Kioti, LS, etc ... but common mainstream perception drives these markets.
