Harbor Freight Tools that don't suck

Now you have ask yourself what could POSSIBLY go wrong with buying hammer from HF?

Well let me tell you :D

I bought this 2lb double sided brass faced hammer what piece of work that was. The first time I tried use it the head came flying off. It was just secured with just a wooden wedge (a design that which a lot of tools once used (like back in the stone age lol) The handle fit was so loose in the hole in the cast iron head it wouldn't hold tight so I used a silicone adhesive and double wedged it. Its had a pretty good workout since then and usually the first persuader I grab most times so I guess NOW it qualifies as a HF tool that doesn't suck too.

Multiple times in this thread I have argued that hammers are the best deal from HF. They seem to have a knack at making the right weight and handle as long as you can live with a Chinese wood handle and are willing to search through the racks for one with the head securely attached. This is not a mail order experience.

I've got one hammer--maybe a photo later today-- that I would not sell unless the price was right and I could exactly replace it. :)

I've had more expensive hammers than HF with loose heads, but ya.. I drip in some epoxy and let it soak in and harden. No more problem. Ever :)

Rapid Pump 1.5 ton aluminum racing jack #68053/69252/60569 anyone have this? $69.99 with coupon. Wife got me a 3 ton one that ways a ton for Christmas. I dont have paved area or garage, so I cant roll it around and a light weight one would be nice. Would be used on impala, highlander, dakota, and 2500hd gas (6000#).

Not sure exactly which aluminum jack I have but it's light as a feather and I love it. Also have the heavy steel ones and really try to avoid using them because they weigh so much.

1.5 ton is 3000lbs.. I would get a heavier duty one for use on the truck..

Ayep. We had a 1.5 ton one and it didn't have the power or height to lift up our pickup (1997 Dodge 1500 4x4). Replaced it with a 3 ton one and its been good for ~8 years now.

I have one of the 1.5 aluminum jack. I have used it on a Honda CRV and a Jeep. It did raise them but I do not get a good feeling using it. I have used it for other light duty tasks around the farm. I have a welding trailer and, for extended leave of absence, I remove a wheel. It handles this job perfectly.

I carry a HF steel 2.5 ton jack when I haul my trailers. It sure weighs a lot. Most of the time I do not need it. But, on a trip from FLorida to Texas with a heavy load on my lowboy trailer, I used it twice. My old tires seemed good for the trip but it turned out I was wrong. I blew one tire, put on spare and bought 3 new tires which is all Walmart had. Eighty miles from home I blew the last tire. I made it home on a very old spare. I now have 4 new tires with one decent old spare. I am thinking of buying the HF 3 ton aluminum jack for easier portability.

I had one of the "racing" jacks. Wouldn't buy it again. It was a quick pump and when lifting near it's limits it took a lot of force. It's one thing for a racing team to need to raise a car off the ground quickly but 4 or 5 pumps (vs 2) is fine by me.
