It's the last stinking Monday of the year. Good flipping riddance to it. I was blessed in 2013. I wish all the best in the New Year.

After yesterday's monsoon, I think all looks well with the farm. This past Saturday I had to grade my driveway, I still have the blisters to prove it. I *think* it looked better than before, not as wet, when I left this AM. I been holding off on a box blade for my lifetime, I should just pave it in 2014 and be done with it. I don't anticipate any more construction, although a new 3 car garage for my hot rods would be nice.

We have a chance of snow on Wednesday, nothing like the weather in Texas to Maine. So far this year, I would classify the weather here as mild.

33F Foggy 5" heavy wet snow waits to be shovel & plow,temps headed downward this afternoon even further tonight.
Evergreen limbs/branch holding good snow loades,might be interesting when plowing,lights flicker twice during storm but was lucky never lost power..whew,about 10x w/out power in NH.

Heard there another snowstorm moving in Thursday staying until Friday..huff and puff blow storm down southern.

Good Morning! 36˚ heading to 46˚ windy no rain. Cloud cover ? - still too dark. I got up early to feed the WBS and the few coals left started the new wood up quickly. The inside temp only dropped to 70 (from 71) before the fire startup so I didn't have to grab the robe and slippers this morning.

The only rain in Texas is way down south where Ron set up camp. Looks like I'll work some more on clearing the front fence line. After 3 months I'm about half finished with about 1000 yards to go on the short front. The work is clearing out the brush and briars that have grown in the fence the last 15 years and clearing a path on the inside of the fence line - right above the county water line - so the work has to be done by hand. At this rate If I keep going around the property line I'll be back at the start in three years - just in time to start again.

Now TxDon, sometime late April early May I'll be driving by your way in my motorhome, and I'd like you to have that all cleaned up
by then. I've never been on a ranch ,heck, I've rarely been West of the Mississippi river. So since I'm such a greenhorn,
I'm going to need a thorough education on tumbleweed and mesquite. Any local bison? llama? giraffes? hippopotamuses? :confused3:
And no, I'm not getting on a horse. I always seemed to go down when it was going up, never could get in synch.
I am quite happy with a golf cart or UTV...which I have both of and can't tow them too along with the VW behind the motorhome. Not with the rig
I have.

Ok, I'll settle for a lone prairie. Peace and quiet out in the middle of wilderness is actually just what I'm looking for.
I'm not a Las Vegas person.

Do they have wild Indians there? Will arrows go through my motorhome?

29 degrees right now and a it'll drop to 22 today...and -3 tonight.
Looks like about 3-4 inches after the wet snow compacted...a bit of wind too. I'll drink a couple cups of coffee then get at it.Hopefully, the wind will dry it out after I clear the walks, deck and drive.

As Thomas wrote in post 17682, Thursday and Friday...significant snow both days. IF the predictions hold, it'll be around 20" total.

Warm weekend and an inch of rain yesterday, 40's today, really cold about Thursday for a couple of days, then back near normal.
