I went with Farm Bureau, very reasonable and cover anywhere

because they know what they are doing, have tons of experience, and aren't afraid of the exposure because they deal with it every day.
Trying to get an online junior underwriter from E-surance to understand this could be very challenging...

No I have all my others with state farm who would not even do a policy for the tractor, not sure why. I may switch at a later date, just didn't want to go through all the changes right away.

KTAC is great in price and support. I have all JD. They cover all plus my metal barn and 14Kw gen. A bear tore up my UTV and they covered everything as promised. Since 2010

Homeowners will cover your personal property worldwide, but equipment used for the maintenance of premises, which is what tractors and lawnmowers and the like are considered if one is not operating for profit are pretty much address dependent. If one penny changes hands involving the operation of your equipment, all homeowners coverage disappears into the vapor. You cannot charge money for the operation of your equipment or forget about your homeowners policy. The only exception they make is for an incidental office or studio on the premises, not for tractors.

Yup, meets my requirements, AND the bank's...
And I sleep very well...

I tried Farm Bureau before KTAC. FB would only ensure me if I changed all my insurance over to them. Once they dropped me on a second home because they saw I had a $99 claim with USAA for hurricane damage on my primary home fence.

But if thye were good to you, that is what counts..glad you are insured. Good day, Jim

My farm is with firemans fund ins. I have a local agent. I am covered off property because I told him I rented land and he added that to liabilty and equipment coverages. But I also have a fairly large farm policy.

I would find a local agent that is use to handling farms and equipment and go have a chat with them. I think you will find getting your tractor covered off farm isn't a big deal you just have to find someone that will.

I went with KTAC as the tractor is fully covered on either of my properties and while hauling on the road in between, with only the single policy. Coverage also includes damage to the tractor due to accidents during use, e.g., roll-over, limb through the radiator, and the like. You can also add a trailer or implements to the policy if you wish.
