Neat video. The Consolidated B-24 design started as a flying boat idea and morphed into a long range heavy bomber in the late 1930s. 18482 copies built. Crew: 11. 3626 lost in combat.

Did anyone see the obit of Russell Johnson (The Professor on Gilligan's Island) last week. He was in the Army air corps in WWII and flew 44 combat missions as a bombardier in B-24s. Who'd of known?

Yup, it was a bunch of guys from Ford that set up that plant and designed the production line.

If tomorrow were to be the next 1939, the japs would be bayoneting us in the streets while the EPA, Feds and City council sent the permit application back and forth and the union strikes for better benefits... Realistically it would be the Chinese of course and not the japs...
