Anyone taken the colored cap off their remote hydraulic lever? I pulled and twisted and it won't budge. I want to try and get it off undamaged so I can reuse it. I hooked my grapple up to my rear remotes and want to make a 3" - 4" extension to get it up above the seat so its easier to hit.

Have you tried heat? Might be glued on ...

I was betting on glue or epoxy. Just wanted to see if anyone knew for sure. I can always cut it off and use a different one, no big deal. Could always thread it to use a cool cue ball or skull shifter knob....haha!

Try this. I could not get the cap of of my Kioti remote by pulling on it either. Nothing worked. until I took an adjustable wrench and sized it to barely slide onto the metal shaft and then pulled up with the side of the jaws of the wrench contacting the bottom of the rubber cap. It almost fell off it was so easy to get off. I couldn't believe how easy it was to get off that way and how impossible it was to get off by pulling on it with my fingers. It is kinda like the Chinese finger stall thing, the harder you pull on it with your fingers the tighter it is going to grip the shaft. But by pushing it off with the edge of the wrench jaws on each side of the shaft, it came of so easily.

Tried that with a set of pliers, didn't seem to budge. Then again it was pretty cold out so some heat would help it expand and maybe slide off a little easier.

It was a warm day when I took the one off of the Kioti
