Not sure this is the right forum for this, if this needs to be moved to a different forum I'm sure a moderator will catch it, but here goes anyway.
This is for the new tech gurus, or anyone with previous experience, out there; I only have 2 HDMI cable inputs, which are already being used by sat box and blu ray player, on my HDTV and am wanting to add a new video card with HDMI out to my computer so I can connect it to my HDTV. I've been doing some research and have found this splitter I'm interested in from Amazon, Amazon.com: 3-In 1-Out HDMI Auto Switch Splitter: Electronics. My concern is that the new cable from the computer to the tv will be 15' long. Will the signal still be ok or will it degrade through a run that long? I've already chosen the video card and 15' HDMI cable(Latest Version Supports Ethernet, 3D, and Audio Return). Just need to make sure about the splitter before I order. Thanks in advance, KW

Thanks Aaron! Is your wife's cable going thru a splitter too? I know the 15' cable will work, I'm just concerned it will lose signal as it gets split.

Looked at the switch/splitter the OP has linked and read the specs. It is a bit of a misnomer to call it a splitter. It's a three in-one out operation and what comes out is automatically determined by whichever device that is plugged in is turned on first. So there is no actual splitting of the signal strength. Wish they'd had these a few years ago for a project I worked. Would have saved time and dollars.

No, straight into the TV (although, we will be adding a coupler at some point and putting on a cheap 6' cable as the larger cable is fairly heavy to have hanging off of the laptop.

I use a 100' HDMI cable ($90 Sewell Direct) that connects my Swann security DVR + cameras to my HDTV for outside viewing when the driveway alarms go off. It uses an inline booster chipset to amplify the signal. Its a 'one-way' device which is perfect for my remote viewing software. Someone on this forum suggested this supplier and its perfect for my application. Shorter lengths work fine without the booster. I often use a 30 footer to connect a laptop to my TV for presentations.
