My newphew works for a company which has a LP service, and has told the family that prices well above $4 per gallon could soon be the norm. Ouch!

I just seen on a news site the Gov of Wisconsin is going to address the problem of LP shortage.I guess we will see what he has to say.

Sounds like the drivers can work longer hours and haul more propane....that's great but you have to have the propane to haul!! $4.99/gal when I called last night to check the price.

I've heard there is no shortage of propane available, but the delivery/distribution system is maxed out due to high usage.

In Maine, propane is never a "cheap" fuel.

I just read a article in the Antigo Wis Newspaper that as of this morning LP was costing 4.20 gallon everyone is limited to 100 gallons

this whole propane thing reminds me of the so called gasoline shortage of long ago, funny when the price is up the shortage goes away.

after running the entire list I will stick with my wood, only thing that beats it is the coal and just barely, no wonder Obama wants to outlaw coal and wood

Cool calculator. I'm not sure if it takes into account the efficiency of the various heating appliances. For example radiant heat via a wood stove is going to be far less efficient in terms of transfer than a gas furnace. I mostly heat with oil, but like heating with wood a secondary source because it makes me warm twice, when I chop it and again when I burn it!

While really cheap I'm sure glad all my neighbors don't burn wood and coal!!

This is our first time ever with propane. I've always had natural gas but it is not available at the house we just built. First load in August when it was installed was $2.99/gallon. Today's refill was $3.59/gallon.

We will have to see how to lock in prices for next year.

Fill your tank as close to Fall as you can or better yet, buy a second tank and stock up.
