Rotary Cutter For Kubota L3800

As the title says, I'm looking for a Rotary Cutter for a Kubota L3800. Most of my work will be cutting woody brush (small stuff) honeysuckle and grass. I dont have a large area to cut maybe 3 acres that have been cleared with a bobcat forestry cutter. But have a lot of other area's that need cutting and its in heavy trees that i need to be able to move around.

I've borrowed a Woods BB600X and that was a great cutter, really heavy and my property has some hills so trying to keep weight down if possible. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have a 6' Rhino cutter that I like. I'd call it Medium Duty. I used it on my L4400 and now use it on my Brother's L3240. Real nice size for those tractors. You could handle a 7' but the problem becomes the length. 7' cutters are still single spindle so the tail wheel gets to be a long distance from the tractor.

Look for used. have patience. I bought mine used from a TBNer. I can't remember for sure what I paid, but it was less than $650.

I have a six ft.Bush-Hog branded cutter that I purchased new.It has about 700 hrs on it with no problems.It has shear pins instead of a slip clutch.I have only sheared two pins in all that use.It looks pretty beat up now but continues to work well.Used on a L3130 and L4240 Kubota's.

I have had good luck with Bushhog brand cutters. I have a 5' and 8' and both work great. I just sold a 6' Bushhog that was over 40 yrs old. It looked rough but still cut fine. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Bushhog cutter. To me the main thing to look at no matter what brand is the blade tip speed. The fast the speed the higher your cut quality will be. For example my 5' is 13,000 fpm and the 8' is 15,000. The difference between the two is very noticable.

I pull a SQ172 (6') Bushhog brand behind my L3400 Bota DT(gear). Owned it maybe 5 years. Been a dang good cutter. Use for personal use, private land not commercial application.

That is a good looking cutter Boone. Is that ragweed you are cutting down? If so I would be sneezing my head off.

I've got a 5 foot Land Pride cutter (1860) that's been a good match for my L3400, 660 lbs.

I have the same land pride cutter 1860 I pull behind my L3200DT no problems pulling and a great cutter !

Good call on your part as usual James yes lots of ragweed was in there. Wasn't so bad don't mess with it a lot but don't seem to bother me.

Ragweed is just about my number 1 plant allergen. I remember going to the Oklahoma Allergy Clinic a lot of years ago and in the testing procedure they stick you with pollen and extracts from about everything you would likely encounter in life to see what you are allergic to. The site of the ragweed injection was swelled up bigger than a silver dollar, and looked like the state of Texas.. I need to stay away from that stuff. It made a big impression on my as a little kid.
