This tractor has no block heater because it's so old only glow plugs so a battery charger is necessary for really really cold starts
Block heaters a cheap and simple to add.

Yeah but for the amount we use the tractor in the winter it's not needed would be nice but no need as of the momentBlock heaters a cheap and simple to add.

shadman - I have a '98 B2400 that has the same key sequence as yours. For the last several years, I have to remember to check that the key goes back to "run" after it starts because it often gets stuck in the "glow" position. However, I recently bought a 2005 M125X. On it, the glow is automatic and doesn't even function until the temperature gets to 32F or below. I bought the M125X to replace a JD2940 that has always been a beast to start if the temperature falls much below 50F.
Mine starts fine even staying in an unheated garage which gets to only about 10 degrees above the outside temp. This morning it was 14 degrees out, so about 24 in the garage. I glow for about 10 seconds, throttle bumped to about 1800 rpm or so and hit the starter and she wakes right up. Funny story though. I have only had the tractor for two weeks. First three days, tough to start even though I was using the glow plugs, or so I THOUGHT. I would put the key in the " glow plug position" then start it. Thought about it and realized there is off, run and start. WHERE IS THE GLOW POSITION...?. So, I looked at he manual again. Hmmm. I go out, sit in the seat and put the key in run. No glow plug light. Turn to start and halfway through the movement the glow plug lights!! EUREKA!!! Moral of the story, even though its a rookie mistake, I wonder how many people think the fuel pump noise is the glow plug noise and are NOT glowing the plugs. If I am the only person who did that, so be it. I always though there was a glow plug position on the ignition switch.
GLOW PLUGS? we don't need no stinking glow plugs!
