You could do that, but why would you need them on the joystick or the SCV lever. , I would think dash mounted would suffice and save the money of the fancy control knob.
I have done that.

I don't know about you, but I like to have the switches in the control grip so that I don't have to move my hand back and forth when adjusting the different cylinders. Not really that big of a deal, personal preference is all.

I'm not sure that it is really all that much more money when you are talking about multiple switches. One switch, yes there is a big price difference, but when you go to multiple switches, the cost difference drops dramatically. ;)

Lug down to the point where it stalls out? I expect a full report on that snow blower!!

I try not to stall it and I can usually catch it at about 1200 rpm, but if I am pushing hard the hydrostat pedal takes a second or so to return and that will stall it if I am not quick enough to hit the back pedal. The combined requirements of maxing the hydraulics and the drive hydrostat is what places enough load on the engine to stall it. As far as the blower I am bad about having everything in good mechanical condition so I have it torn down in my garage, so far everything looks good with not a lot of wear. Gearbox oil changed and tightened in the holder. Fan straightened and welded where needed. I will straighten and weld the augers where needed tonight and install grease fittings in the bearings. The only thing left to do is repair the cobbled up hydraulic turn for the shoot. I think it will be quicker to build a new one. Going to gather up the components today. We have about 3.5-4' of snow on the level so I will have a lot of time to use it. It will be used mainly to blow banks back at the hall from the plow trucks, so it will see some heavy use. CJ

I've got the DK50SE HST Cab and I like it a lot. Mine also has the stiff throttle, and I've been intending to lube mine up too.

If you buy one, be sure and get an extra set of rear remotes. I've got two sets and I wish I had three because I use one set for my grapple, and the second set for the hydraulic rippers on my box blade. I'd like a third set for a hydraulic top link.

As far as the throttle I am almost positive there is a friction adjustment in the column but I have not messed with mine so I can't say for sure. But you don't want it too loose, I am used to just bumping it to get the rpm I want. CJ

It looks like we'll be getting the DK50SE HST. My wife drove it and loved it. I also tested an RX6010, and found the ergonomics awful. I'm 6' and the seat does not go far enough back. The foot throttle is so far out in front of the brakes that I could not comfortably rest my heel on the deck to work it. It's clearly designed for operators who are 5' tall of shorter! The seat could be a little farther back in the DK50 but it's nowhere near as bad.

Now the big question is whether I want Ag tires or keep the R4's that are on it?

Just my :2cents:, if you are farming, you want AGs. Everything else, go with the R4s. ;)

Farming, or skidding logs or removing snow. Ag tires give you WAY more traction, but do have the potential to tear up your lawn of you drive on it wet.

Great choice of tractor. That last question will probably result in many opinions. I have both tire types and will say that my next ones will most likely be R1s again. If you plan to operate primarily on firm ground the R4's are perfectly fine. On loose or soft ground the R1s are better. So it all comes to down to what you'll be doing and how often you will be doing it. Buy the tire that is best for your most frequent needs.

In my case I tried the R4s because I got a much better price for taking the tractor with the tires already mounted on it. So far it hasn't been stuck yet in over three years of ownership. It has been questionably close though.

Sounds like I should go with the Ag tires. I don't have any reason to drive on the lawn, except in the winter and then the ground will be frozen. The mud around here is sticky like grease. I've never seen anything like it, the mud doesn't even hose off a shovel well, it must have a lot of clay in it. If I very need to till any of my hay fields to reseed I'll need the Ag tires. I have to think for years ahead, not just for my needs today.
