Unknown attachments

I recently purchased a new (to me) case 444 and it came with some attachments that I am unable to identify there purpose. Does anyone have any suggestions what these two attachments are used for? Thank you

Used to have two Case 446's, Good machines. No idea about the attachments. You might post the pictures where Hydriv will see them in this forum: Case / Ingersoll

I appreciate the vote of confidence but truthfully speaking, I have never laid my eyes on those attachments .....EVER. Therefore, just like everyone else, I would be guessing and my guesses would be very similar to the ones already given.

HOWEVER..... what I can tell you is this. Case never made attachments like the ones in the photos nor did they ever offer aftermarket attachments that resembled them. They are certainly not from Brinly-Hardy but they might be proprietary implements for a walk-behind garden tractor. Case garden tractors had three ways of connecting attachments and those attachments do not come close to the styles used by Case and later on... Ingersoll.

Rear mounted attachments were either Sleeve Hitch style or CAT 0 three point hitch style, both of which are well established methods. Front mounted and mid-mounted attachments were restricted to utility blades, snow blowers, mower decks, 540 RPM mechanical PTO's or sickle bar mowers made by Haban or Didier. Of course, there were attachments that were connected to the tow plate at the rear of the tractor such as lawn rollers, garden carts, aerators etc. I'm thinking that the attachments in question were dragged behind the tractor from a tow plate and whomever it was that sold you the tractor, simply included them in the sale to get rid of them. Personally, I see no real value in them other than what the local scrap yard might pay.

Unless one had a riding arena or track that needed to be groomed, I doubt that many people would have a use for them...

Thanks for the input. I don't foresee needing them myself so I put them on Craigslist, maybe someone will need them. I'll make something useful out of them if they don't sell.

The attachment on the left is a sand trap rake, for golf courses. I believe a ball field attachment was also available. A few manufacturers put out their own versions, they were "popular" in the heyday of gt's, back in the 60's-70's. Heres a couple pics. Those that have the Will gt book, look on page 124, and theres another example of one.






The other attachment im not sure, but it looks like a scarifier to break loose ground.

Good for you Casey. I have Will's book but I never took any notice of that photo when I read it a few years back. I see that Cub Cadet offered that attachment along with a dual wheel kit to lessen tire compaction. At least we now know that these tools were not home-made and had a specific use. The other one is still kind of puzzling with those T-shaped tools. I have to wonder what use it had.

Judging by his pics, it appears some of the frame is missing though. The only interested parties I think would want it are attachment collectors, who are few and far between. I'll see if I can find the other attachment.

Makes sense since both probably came with the same tractor and were used at the same facilities. Its called a sand trap rake scarifier with chisel teeth. Seems as though its an optional add on to the other implement you pictured. Out of curiosity djjeepin, where did these come from?
