Drone Delivery Shot Down

I would think overhead power lines etc. would be the biggest concern with drone flights. Having these things snag a phone line and falling out of the sky could be dangerous. I could see establishing 'flyways' that are 'drone safe' at least until you get to that 'last mile'. Of course once you put them all in one convenient lane you will start having to deal with 'air to air piracy' with rouge drone makers creating bigger drones that can snatch the little drones and their cargo mid-air. Think there is a .22 shortage now? Wait until the delivery drones all have to be armed with mini .22 machine guns to ward off the pirate drones

The FAA has the wisdom to see the big picture for the inherent potential danger of unmanned and unregulated drones sharing the skies with private & commercial aircraft. We don't want another.... too little and too late regulations ....like the dangers of the cell phone texting problem. We can't just bury our heads in the sand and 'HOPE' nothing happens. Like it or not regulation is needed.

I said I'd be surprised, not that it couldn't be done.

There's several videos out there of people lifting beer (among other things) with drones. They have to bump up the available power to the motors and cut the available flight time considerably. One I saw said it cut the flight time from 30 minutes to 3 minutes.

Would I want beer delivered by drone to my ice shanty? Of course!
Would I want a 10 pound brick controlled by a liquor store counter person flying over my house, car, kids, traffic, pedestrians, etc.... probably not, unless it was beer, to my ice shanty, then of course, yes.

This is great! Now I know what I'm going to do when I retire (you know, supplement that meager income?). :thumbsup:

And, before you get the wrong idea, I'm going to form a fighter drone security providing company - I'll protect your drones by flying fighter drones in accompaniment. The wild west returns, new shotgun guards for the new coaches!
