Would the 12,000 lbs be the estimated weight with loaded tires?

I'm sure thats pretty close if the tires are loaded. those 38" tires are rather large. I'm not trying to be a PITA, I was just curious how the 6d stacks up against my 5e currently

from what weve read about the frame sizes the 6d is a souter heavier tractor than the 5es.an is built more tobe a farm tractor.but theres not much if any price differance between the 2 tractors.i was pricing the 5100s against the 6105s.an the 5100 is a smallwer lighter tractor all the way around.an the tires on the 5100 was smaller as well.

That was my general impression as well and I almost wished I would have stepped up another frame size. I was drooling over the 6R's and I really liked alot of the features that they had. I would really have liked the rack and pinion axles although I don't row crop. The ease of adjustability would have been alot nicer. I thought I went big enough to begin with! Ah well, lessons learned.

Don't feel bad RedNeckRacin, I my self also wish I had bought the 6 series. I currently own a 5093e ,and Im not overly impressed. I haven't been since I started working it , The dealers been to my shop a couple times etc.... for this and that , and ive complained to JD. about a few issues. They are minor but for the amt of $$$$$ these tractors cost, things should be different......... 1 reason I guess I bought this series was the price difference. Im not a rich man but Im not starving neither. Way to much difference for me. I wish I would have went ahead and spent the extra $$$$ and got a better, bigger tractor for what I do etc....... IMO

Well, I'm definitely in the same boat that you are. It seems like I'm stuck right in the middle of machine sizes. I'm big enough to easily run the older farm equipment but I'm just not quite big enough for runnning the newer productive units (discbines, big square balers yadda yadda). I really don't have the money for the fancy stuff either so I think I'm mostly day dreaming. The good deals seem to come on that next size up equipment though because the smaller guys don't have enough grunt to run it well. 4 bottom plows and up, 1000rpm equipment, These newer "utility" tractors don't match up well to the older machines in the same HP range either. In theory a 4wd will pull more than a 2wd but the 2wd tractors seem to be much heavier and control the implements behind them much better (or seem to).

the only thing I can directly relate that experience to with the exact same equipment is my FIL's 4020 to my 5083E. Completely different ball games there thats for sure.

I couldn't agree with u more! Ive said the same almost to the word , to guys I know and work with. These new tractors are ok BUT I think they are way overrated. Be my guess JD knows this info . also but to sell tractors with there competitors they build these lighter machines. IMO. if nothing else it looks good! I still wish I would have bought bigger, BUT................ just keep dreaming!

you can always buy a bigger tractor.just trade up every 4 or 5yrs.i dont like spending money.but im at a point where its only money.so if i can make it work i go for it.as im the 1 that has to deal with it.

Well, I need to upgrade to a house and pay off some student loans before I start upsizing tractors just yet! I do keep dreaming of bigger tractors, but i'm almost to the point of trying to figure out how to afford a 2nd older tractor as that 2WD HP seems alot more affordable, esp when most of my need is for hay making on about 100 or so acres a couple times a year.

I just need to win the lottery and I would be set, to bad I don't buy tickets for it!

Bull-Keep us posted on that 6D machine, I'm still curious!
