Rear Blade Purchasing decision - TSC brand or Kodiak rear blade

i just purchased a kk standard blade($349) which i believe is very similar to what tsc sells and it is very light i am looking at welding on some weight as i was hoping for a little counterweight when i haul wood to the house with my forks. it looks to be built fine but i guess you get what you pay for.

This is my post from last November, I like this blade a lot, does a good job with snow, and we have gotten a lot this year, haven't used it in the dirt yet, they are pricey but I don't think I'll ever have to buy another. Good luck

If you want a heavy blade call around and find who sells used blades. I got 3x the blade for half the cost. Blades have so few moving parts that even sitting outside they last forever. I would never buy a new one.

I looked/called around for months and didn't find one that met my "requirements". I've bought a bunch of used implements, so I'm not against that at all, but it's hit or miss depending on what you're looking for. There aren't many 7-8' blades for sale around here used...lots of 5-6' models, but that's about it.

I bought the 6' TSC blade a few weeks ago for $350. You definitely get what you pay for -- it's among the lightest duty blades I looked at, inline with the price. I'm only using it for snow a couple months out of the year, so the cheapskate in me overruled my normal urge to buy the best I can afford.

I really liked the EA heavy duty blade and some of the Howse and Land Pride units I looked at. If I didn't already have a heavy duty Howse box blade as my go-to implement for soil and gravel, I would have stepped up and gotten one of these more expensive rear blades with tilt and slide features.

So I'd say the TSC blade is fine for snow and light use, but otherwise spend more money for a better blade with more features.
