any machine I get that has a factor cannister with cartridge.. i leave it on. it's thicker metal than a spin on.
i HAVE had a spin on poked or dented by a stick before. some just cosmetically.. some enough to make the seal leak. IMHO.. canister is better setup./ thicker metal..e tc. your call. probably such a close % issue anyway will lielky not make a useable differance.
I think that's sound advice. I'd hate to have something like that happen that could cause damage if unnoticed running it in the woods all day, for no other reason than convenience.
Think I'll stick with what she's got. I think this would be a better option if you're using it primarily as an ag tractor where the risk of damage to the filter would be low and the hours racking up.
