I just went and measured, my original toplink is 15" fully closed.Yours sounds like it should work. Just keep in mind that these machines have a limited Cat. 1 hitch meaning they can adjust to Cat. 1 width but are limited to the actual lift height,or that's the way I understand it.Mine has a lift range of about 24" between fully up and fully down. If the pins on the implement are too far off the ground it won't lift very high. I've ran into that on a few implements I wanted to use. They make implements especially for limited cat.1 tractors $$$ ,or if you're able you can modify what you have by dropping the lift points closer the the ground. They'd have to be about 5" off the ground to have full travel, which is way too low for most things.

I'm not real familiar with the the GC models but my tractor has two holes on the tractor for the top link. Using the bottom hole will also give you more lift. Does the GC have one or two?

Mine has one hole for the top link and no adjustment on the lift arms either. I've had to adjust my implements to fit the tractor since I can't adjust the tractor to fit the implement.

Looking at your pictures I would say your top link is too long. A shorter top link would lift the blade off of the ground more as your lift arms would be lower. Congrats on your new purchase.

Thank you and the TL was too long. I picked up a shorter one yesterday and all is great!

If you bought the tractor from a dealer, shouldn't the top link have been provided?

It should have, but we did not notice it at the dealer. It was quick In and Out sale and we only looked at the Most important things.

When I got mine the fluid was very dark. The first thing I did was change all the fluids (except antifreeze) and filters. Now the fluid is slightly honey colored but clear enough it's hard to see in the sight glass. I'd say you might want to do the same. Sounds like water in there.

We will be changing the HST fluid very soon, I will be getting everything from the dealer tomorrow. I agree on the water :( Thanks, C!

I will have to measure this aftermarket short TL i just picked up, hopefully it's close to the stock 15". If not I may have to find one to gain some more clearence/ blade angle. The one I picked up has a 13" body and makes a HUGE difference! Thanks again!

The GC only has one point of attachment for the top link.

New subject,

We have had a hard time getting the GC to start our garage even with the heat on and about 55 degrees inside. We normally have to tarp with a torpedo heater. The old man an I started tinkering around and found we are not getting power to the GP's. After tests we found the switch is bad only at the point of contact for GP's. We took it apart and man was it dirty! The GP contacts are also very rough and seems there has been some arcing taking place. We cleaned it up well and put it all back together, now she fires right up with glow plugs working!! Woo hoo. One thing I will add for GC owners. If your switch does go bad it can be taken apart and cleaned. There are 3 contacts total, two that are slightly less than a 1/2" long x 1/4" wide. The smallest one (3rd one) is for GP's and as stated had signs or arcing. These little contacts can be flipped around and act just like new, so now the end that is damaged from arcing is not being used at all. Even though it is fixed we are still getting a new switch in case it happens again. We are also going to cut a hole in the back of the rubber cover where the wires protrude from the switch, it seems water can build up in there and cause corrosion on these wires.

Well I rambled enough! Thank you again to everyone!
