Do you use home heating or pump at the diesel

"I paid $5.25/gallon for my last pump diesel." So far, your the official winner of paying the most taxed diesel fuel, but your HHO should be a lot cheaper with no tax, and if that's the case, I'd be using that in my tractor.
But I might be the winner in land taxes, last year I paid $1,200.00/25 acres, on 24'X32' house, with small upstairs, and porch, but with a new 26'X36' garage in the process of being built, when it's done, my taxes will surely increase.
The last HHO I bought was in March of 2013 and I paid for that 'all in' $1.30965/litre which works out in US gallons to $4.95047/gallon.
The fuel supplier 'says' I am only paying $1.159/Litre, but then he adds the Hose & Screw Tax to it and it comes out at $1.30965
HST is a total of Goods and Services Tax (5%)+ Sales Tax(8%)=13%
$936. for 52X26 single story house with full basement on 5 acres of land, 410' gravel dead end road frontage. Electricity and phone are the only utilities.

Dont forget that we are paying also in product transport. whether it be a truck or a train. they all use diesel. and the rising costs are passed onto us the consumer..So what we pay for diesel is really a drop in the bucket.

The last I heard, and that was 2 years ago, a load of 50,000L/13,000 US gallons of fuel from Toronto cost each station $750.oo and that was not for the whole load. Just part of it. That truck would drop at 4-5 stations on his way up. But that still does not justify the 25-35% tax on the ORF. Nor the 13% tax on HHO.

"Hose & Screw Tax" That's a good one!, at least after herring all these horror story's of high taxed HHO, and highway diesel, I made up my mind about one thing, I'm not moving to Canada, I'm gonna keep burning firewood to heat my house, and not complain to much about the low cost of ORF. I guess my land taxes aren't to bad either, yet.

I still burn wood and only go through 150 gallons of HHO a season. (Some of that I run in the tractor.)

Years ago IF I could have gotten a green card I might have been your neighbour. But at the time there were lots of unemployed truck drivers in the US, so I was s-o-l. All the prospective employers that I wanted to work for wouldn't pony up the 10 grand to sponsor me. Even after a guarantee from me that they would NOT lose their money.
Now I am too old and too settled in my ways to change.

Don't forget, we've got FREE health care, that we the employed pay for out of our pay checks (deducted at the source). The ones on cash for life get it totally free and only pay $2.oo for their prescriptions.

Well said! Remember while we were at war for over a decade in the Middle East, oil companies like ExxonMobil made record profits here at home. The Great Recession seemed to barely graze the oil industry in America. We continue to pay the price they think we are willing too. HHO or Diesel, all are inflated with record breaking profits in within their industry. I use the low sulfur diesel in my tractor, and it pains me to pay the $.79 cent tax to the state of ct, they do nothing to deserve it, ( the federal tax is included in that number). We don't have OFD readily available, and although I used to use HHO, I lost trust in that industry to believe they were offering the same product. I used to drive oil, and it seemed to me they go for whatever product is cheapest. I always add the anti-gel anyway to be safe and keep everything lubricated. We can't win this price game until we figure out how to even the playing field. Right now it is Big Oil and the Government who control it all. Thanks for letting me put in my two cents.

Just thought I would continue the off-topic line of prices wwe pay. Unleaded 95 petrol (gasoline I think to most of you) is about $4-20 US $ and gallon. Off-road diesel (dyed green here and red everywhere else I have farmed) is under $3. That includes a Sales Tax type tax of 12% that I am able to reclaim because I am a farmer.

I pay out $1.35/US Gallon for ORD just in tax.

Looks like your free health care cost more than Obama care, but I don't know where to find out how much tax we pay in Me. for high way diesel, maybe it's .10 cents/gal. because Obama care is free, somebody here might know., I know the ORD I buy isn't green, it's red-ish. I think one of problems that causes high oil prices, is the oil speculators at Wall-Street, every time someone shoots a bullet in the middle east, the price goes up. We have to find something else to use besides Middle East oil. I get about 8-9 hrs. on my tractor with 6 gal. of fuel, and for a 3 cylinder 34 horse power, the motor is small, doesn't look much bigger than a push lawnmower engine, be hard to beat that with battery power
