If I can make a recommendation or suggestion here Trask: I'd be looking for a blade with the tallest moldboard I could find. Mine is only 14" tall and snow constantly barrels over it. Look for one with at least a 17"-18" height. I know Landpride makes a 6 footer with that height. King Cutter also makes one. They are more pricey ( most near or over 1K range) as the taller moldboards seem to come only on the heavier duty units. One of the benefits is the added ballast as a heavy duty 6' rear scraper blade will come in well over 400 lbs.

10-4 on the higher moldboard and heavier unit.

I'm gonna take my time on finding the right blade, probably buy used to stay in a budget; watching a few on C.L.

I have the 48" ATV blade mounted on the RTV now so I can afford to shop a while; I'm also considering a strip of conveyor belt bolted below the wear-bar for the snow-clearing operations on the asphalt.

Being mid-late February in NW Oregon, there is a good chance I am done with the major snow-storms at this elevation (1,190 feet). I'll be set by next winter for sure; God willing.....

Thanks sir!

Trask, a pretty good rear blade to buy used was the old JD 45. It had good moldboard height however not so good other things such as blade tilt (it has none) Painted red, it may be a good match. 6 footers are all our tractors need.

Here's my 3535 and single stage snowblower. I usually go a little faster than this but my first couple of cuts I had to go down to low range.

You may only need a 6' blade for some tasks. However, a fully angled 7' blade will fully cover your tire tracks when doing road work.

My tractor is smaller than the ones you guys are referring to here, but in hindsight I really wish I'd gone up one size with my rear blade for this exact reason. If I run my 60in on a 15deg angle I'll cover my tracks.... barely. Jump to the full 30deg and I'm narrow by about 4inches. I really wish I'd gone with a 72in blade for that reason, and the ability to push back the banks. Even with the 60in blade perfectly square i get very little bite outside of my wheels.

I do suppose a 6' blade may not fully cover a tractor with wider R4's. Trask seems to have ags of which I know a 6' blade covers at 30* because it does on mine with the ags.
