Looking to buy a Mahindra 3016 - Good Price?

Well, I suppose I can use that little tidbit to convince my wife that I need to buy now! Thanks guys.

One more thing... I just found a Kioti dealer about the same distance away from me as the Mahindra dealer. Are they similar, better or worse than Mahindra? Should I take the time to check out their similar sized tractor? They have a promotion going on for free loaders....

I hadn't heard of Kioti before I joined the TBN forum, so I can't and won't say yea or nay.

But as I understand it Mahindra was the overseas manufacturer for IH back in the 70's and before. And consider the IH standard back when ... just throwing out a thought. Bit definitely throw the FEL/BH in the financing. Buying them later would probably hard to finance.

Never heard of Kioti until 2 days ago and Mahindra about 3 months ago so thanks for the advice. I also don't know what IH stands for.

IH = International Harvester.

Mahindra started out in India and then IH contracted them to make their foreign tractors. IH is mainly known in the states for making tractor-trailer trucks, but had a good reputation for farm tractors as well.

Kioti is probably in the same class as Mahindra, John Deere, IH/Case, Kubota or New Holland in the smaller sizes. My choices at the time of my purchase was the dealer had Kubota and Mahindra. The $3K less than Kubota pretty much was the sell point. But I knew I was going to be the weekend warrior or a special projects guy with time. I'm not doing a day-in/day-out use.

I would have easily trusted it to do the holding pen cleanup that was done for the cow sh** when I was done milking in the 80s that was done with a Ford 8 with FEL.

But I have done limited research for a few years since I moved onto my property. The tradeoffs of price to quality led me to Mahindra as being reliable and capable for the money spent.

Mahindra and Kioti are both very good tractors. You won't go wrong with either. You've got a good price on that 3016 though. I'd go for it.
