Yanmar LX4500
Hey guys,

Just picked up a 2012 or 2013 Yanmar LX4500 yesterday (does anyone know how to tell from the serial number or something, the model year?) 77 hours, garage kept, paint still on the bucket. It came with a LandPride 72" RB26 blade, LandPride 72" finish mower, and a set of pallet forks. I've wanted a tractor for a long time, but the snow this winter pushed me over the edge, and I started looking. Came across this one, and paid $6000 less than the PO did less than a year ago. Hard to argue with that.

I also put it to work right away, cleaning up some snow around the yard, and pushing a project car onto my car trailer.

That is a nice tractor and car. :welcome: Might try calling a yanmar dealer and ask them about the serial number. The older Yanmars serial numbers could not be traced back to a year but maybe the new ones can. :confused3:

Had a 410 now for couple years. YM220 back in the 80's. You won't be disappointed. Great tractors.

You should be able to get a date code from the rim, Example 0612 for month and year. Yes that would be for the rim but it should give you an idea.

Sweet Ride! The err, tractor I mean...We have the exact same model right down to the Ag tires. There should be a date code on the engine data plate you can understand, just lift the hood, the data plate will be on the top. You should notify Yanmar to transfer the warranty if you and the previous owner hasn't already done so. The warranty is good for 5 years on the drive-train, 2 years for all the other parts.

I take offense to that!!

lol.

The car is a '64 Buick Skylark. I'm building it for my father in law, and it's getting a turbocharged LS6 from a CTS-V :)

Also, I think I found a pretty foolproof way to determine model year. If it's anything like cars, the emissions tag will be a sure bet. Here is mine.

Looks like I've got a 2011

I was also glad to see a lack of a DPF, and cooled EGR equipment.

I am a design engineer for another large yellow equipment manufacturer, and DPF/EGR/SCR is nothing but a headache for us.

I would say you have an early 2012 model. Yanmar did not announce the release of LX HST models until March, 2012. The engine was probably older stock.

By the way, there are free 50 hour fluid and filter changes on these models. If the previous owner did not have the maintenance performed you should be able to get that scheduled with your local Yanmar dealer. My dealer was willing to give me the fluids and filters so I could perform the maintenance myself.
