I don't care, today I'm headed to the farm, and going to cut up some downed trees. There are now two big trees in the
elderly owner's front lawn. Not good. One is over and the root ball is up. That should be fun playing with. May have to post a picture and ask for
some advice... But at least I'm back in business, albeit slowly, and stop when it hurts. the surgeon said use it..and use common sense.
Will do. Lets' see, back brace. check. elbow brace. check. wrist brace. check. will the chain saw start? always unknown...

Like many of you, I have a serious itch to get out of my house to do something other than shovel snow...
Well, I can't fight winter, so guess I'll join it, with the heater in the cab set nicely of course. :thumbsup:
I filled up the Kubota yesterday, and that was my first test. If I couldn't lift the five gallon can of diesel up there, I likely had no business
doing much else. but it went fine. No shooting pains. Finally. Though my elbow did have a little talk with me afterwards.
You know, one of those "that was nice buddy but don't do that again for awhile" sort of conversation.

Ten gallons in the tank, and two full cans on the side. I am ready to grapple and go.

3F here. This is getting depressing. Snow today? Lots of work at my wife's place today, that helps me out!! I'm retired, but still need something to do. I guess that's common.

the suburban is warming up, and I'm saved on the root ball. I had sent my tree guy a message, making sure he didn't have a job there, and oh yes he did, so that root ball is all his. He has much bigger, heavier equipment, lawn mats, etc. so I'm just going over to play. Need to run the tractor.
And that grapple, as cool as it is, and it is way cool, belongs on a 100hp M, not a 57hp L. One size too large for my tractor, too much weight up front.
But man is it indestructible. I like it so much I just might buy a bigger tractor when I move next year just to have more fun with it. Long makes nice attachments; their paint jobs aren't always the best, but boy do they give you the steel for your money. I just ordered their FEL mounted spade for the Kubota; I have several dozen small trees to transplant late march. I started with their subsoiler and was so impressed with it, that I ordered their grapple. And now their front tree scoop. Looks like a cool thing to dig up rocks with also. But I'm finding that running a two ton tractor sure has its limits. This grapple needs something with four tons attached to it and some serious hydraulics. Then...I could join in TxDon's grapple contest.

well everything is white out again, but this is nice light stuff. My steel toed work books have grippy soles, I should be good.
And I'm on good behavior...
It's all that bad behavior that got me where I am.

Then tell me why I am here? I'm 67 and haven't got a tooth in my head and haven't had since 1970.

Not sure if this is relevant, or if it explains why you cannot trap your nemesis, but opossums have more teeth than you.

I only count 28 teeth in my backyard Texas possum. ??

I also got diesel yesterday @ $3.69 gal.. The 10 gallons will be good for 10 more hours of grappling, when it warms up.

Yep, I counted one side and there is 7 but I can't see the very front. Don can you ask Mr Possum for a better shot or maybe do xrays.

Diesel is $1.35 a liter here, sure glad the Massey is good on fuel consumption.
