The original post is getting old, but for the benefit of others I'll add my thoughts; Bought a Max25 last summer, FEL, MMM and BH. Right off the bat, the crankcase dipstick wasn't properly seated and before I figured out what was going on, it blew a pint or more of oil all over the mower deck and front end. A real simple dealer faux pas, no real harm done. Went to work with a roll of paper towels and I was back in the saddle. Issue no.2; She no start. There are several kill switches that are meant to prevent accidents and it took a while to isolate the culprit. The switch in the seat which is supposed to detect arse pressure was a little stubborn and, being new to this sort of thing, left me scratching my head. When I had that figured out, the dealer gave me a jumper, about a 6" piece of wire with male connectors, to bypass the switch. You would think this might be a liability issue for the dealer, intentionally bypassing a safety feature but, it worked and I'm happy. That said, this little machine has impressed me. Many of the components are heavier and more robust than the competition and power is not lacking. I've moved earth, snow, rocks and stumps without any further issues and the mower deck, although not the easiest thing to mount/dismount, contains more steel than most small rider-mowers. I turned some pasture into lawn and struck a couple of rocks (YOUCH!) with no visible damage. The blades and shafts are very heavy duty. Years ago I hit a small root on a Sears rider-mower and bent a shaft. That thing was a real POS, but I digest. Using the FEL, I regularly push snow for about 40 ft up a small incline while exiting the barn, with stock, unloaded turf tires. The extra weight is a plus. The hoe is downright snappy at 2000 rpm or so. Would running it higher be better for the engine and pump? Someone help me out here, like I said, I'm new at this. I wasn't impressed by the dealer's lack of knowledge on these particular machines, I did my own research and knew more than he did but, he's been supportive and other than the aforementioned issues, my experience with him has been minimal. He does have full time mechanics and a seemingly well stocked shop and I hope he's going to be around a while. That's about all I can think of at the moment. If I run into any future problems, I'll no doubt air them out here.
