The result of a Floridian trying to drive in a northern NY state winter. Ticketed for failure to yield right of way and aggravated unlicensed operation. Came sliding down the street completely in my lane.

Glad you are ok. Trucks can be fixed.

True Chris. Wife & I are just fine. Now the fun of adjusters and trying to get into a body shop begins. Everyone is super busy because of the miserable winter we've had and I need this thing back by the first of April to tow a trailer and a couple of Harleys to a Florida vacation. The scramble is on!

Glad no one was hurt, but now your Bikers in Florida card has been revoked for picking on one of my fellow Floridians drivin' in snow...:p

Glad you are okay. That is the important thing.

Truck damage sucks and you never get compensated for your truck now having an accident history. Early in the season for Florida drivers.

Maybe you could add one of these while the body work is being done:

Well, he was driving another person's Georgia registered truck. And I don't know that he was a "true" Floridian but we won't go there on these pages. :)
Yup, that cow catcher that you picture would have produced a different outcome for sure!

Just and FYI. I had a lady back into the side of my car last winter. Cost $750 to repair. This summer when I was going to trade it in I was told that the "car fax" found it was in an accident and they decided that it was now worth $1500 less. I laughed at them and left. But it made trading in the car next to impossible. Even though I could get the dealers to not deduct the $1500 off the value of the car it lowered the starting point for negotiating how much my trade was worth. I ended up selling it privately and since I owned it outright it wasn't too much of a hassle.

Good to know Al. CarFax is a joke as far as I'm concerned. How many things go unreported on vehicles that they have no way of finding out? Their so called service is just another way to pick the pockets of the unsuspecting.

Wow, never even thought about that. To me a car never runs right after being hit.

Unless it is just something minor.

Not sure what carfax reports, or if any details?? Perhaps someone else may know more. But id all it says is the car was in an accident, that aint much help.

A few years ago, my saturn was hit in the rear. I was sitting at a light and a guy slid into me. Nothing hard at all. Maybe 10MPH. Only put a few scratches in my bumper cover. And same to his but he also broke the plastic license plate holder and cracked the plastic grill.

Now my saturn aint worth much anyway, but he was in a newer car. Since a report was filed and insurance involved, I am sure it will show for both vehicles on a cafax and likely scare alot of people away. But that is a big difference than something that causes 12k in damage on a 20k vehicle and is repaired.

I guess what I am saying is, if just some cosmetic/sheetmetal damage, I wouldnt be scared. But anything involving S&S or straightening a frame...........

does carfax clarify??
