I replaced the positive and negative cables. I replaced the ground cable that ran from the bolt on the starter to the frame of the machine to elininate and doubt wether or not there was a corrosion problem. All the ends that I cut back on the old cables had green corrosion in the for a long ways. I tested the battery and that tested out good. I put a charge on it tried it. It still seems like it starts out by turning slow but only for a fraction of a second and then its running. Maybe its the nature of the beast? Now the true test will be when I take the machine out for the night and try to start it on a cold morning. I can't do that until I fix the crack in the boom on the hoe end. So Stay Tuned!! Thank you everybody for your help with this and if you have any more ideas that I can try to make this better feel free to let me know.
