Don't give up the ship, that one hasn't sailed yet.
Companies are in business to make money, not sure if you really understand that, people get payed by what their work contributes to that, in other words you get payed what your work is worth to the company. The money they have banked, is not for charity, or to raise salaries, it's the money of the people who own the company, it's theirs. Fairly simple. HSFirst, I own an iPad and like it, so I'm not bashing Apple from a PC standpoint. It's just that I have always thought Apple Corporation treated employees like they were only there to help Apple stockpile money. Money first, people last. So intent are they on commandeering the phone/tablet/laptop/music/and-anything-else-they-can-manage market that they will subject their employees to ridicule, admonishment, long hours and low wages to get there. Yes, they make a nice product, but at what cost? This precedent was set by Jobs and continues to this day from what I can see. The local Apple campus (in Elk Grove, CA) has announced the hiring of 800 new people. According to the local news, all the jobs start at 8 bucks an hour. This from the world's most valued company with how many billions in the bank? That's a whopping net total of $1,280 per month without overtime. That's enough to buy an iPhone with about half left over for a tank of gas and a bag of groceries. Yet, there are hundreds of people in line hoping to score one of these jobs which is an indication of the wonderful shape our economy isn't in. I hope they all live with their parents.![]()

I'm not a shareholder of any company...
America has one of the greatest safety nets of any nation... Subsidized Housing, School Lunches, Free Education, Cell Phones, Scholarships, Discounted Utilities, Discounted Auto Insurance, over 2 years unemployment many I know received... etc.
I guess it will never be enough.
People that believe they are worth more should open up shop and persue that dream.
No one in my family has ever had a pension... we basically work until we can't.
My biggest issue is not big business standing in my way... it's regulations preventing me from working at home or hoops I have to go through to run a business.
The city actually came down on a women that sold vegetables she raised in her backyard... another friend moved to the county because he was not allowed to work as a CPA from home...

Yep. That's what we need. Government taking over Walmart and forcing them to do the peoples' will.....Spoken like a true share holder... people deserve a living wage, not a starvation diet of a pay check that we in turn subsidize with our tax dollars. Wally world can afford more, and should step up.
