I own a Kubota MX5100 w/hydrostatic transmission. I suspect I have a "safety switch" problem, because as of yesterday it won't start. Basically, when I turn the key there is no response. The battery is strong, but there is not even the familiar "click" of power reaching the starter. I know there is a safety switch under the seat and as part of the PTO lever, however both of tested OK. Does anyone know if there are others and/or experienced a similar problem?

Not personally familiar with your tractor model. With that said, if I try to start mine with, for example, the shuttle lever in forward/reverse, it still clicks loudly when the key is turned "on", but won't engage the starter when turned to "start". Nothing I can do will eliminate the loud click when turned to on. Sounds like something other than a safey switch??

If you can think of anything else you need me to test I will. Sorry I can't be more help.

Try rocking the hst pedal. It may not think it's in the neutral position.

Thanks for the advice. Turns out it was a loose wire on the PTO lever's safety switch. 3 hours of staring at it and 5 minutes to fix it.

Thanks to all for the advice. As I mentioned above, it was a loose wire on the PTO lever's safety switch. Quick fix.

Good job, better check the rest of those connections.

Good advice. All are secure. As it turns out, the PTO lever switch was the last one I checked, and the last one to check.

I chased a similar, it was the GST shuttle neutral safety switch. It's been bypassed ever since, I keep forgetting to order a new one...
