Rear blower on front 3 point hitch?

Hello, I was contemplating on putting a 3 point hitch on the front of the tractor with a front PTO, my question is if I got a 3 point snow blower could I use it as a front mount snow blower? Could it handle the stresses of being pushed rather than pulled?

I see no difference in "pushing" vs "pulling" as far as stress is concerned.
It's the speed you travel at that really puts stress on the blower.
You would need the same rotation as the rear and rpm.

Some snow blowers are designed to go on both ends. You will need a mid mount PTO on your tractor, unless you are going the hydraulically driven way.

You could be right, my rear pull has a "cap" over what looks to be the shaft.
Two bolts holding it, I'll have to remove the cap and see, I may be able to reverse it also

Corey, You can mount your snowblower that you used on the rear and put it on the front as long as you buy a front hitch and PTO. The PTO will have to spin CW (looking at it from the front). That will give you the same rotation as the rear. Also you may want to look into loader compat three point hitches on the front. We just recently put one on our JD7430 and it works out awesome for us. Good luck!

Cory all you need to do is get 2right angle drives one to one ratio and hook them together then mount them to your rear pto with the bottom shaft facing forward you the can run a shaft to the front and hook it to your snowblower.
I just finished doing this on my kubota with a 66" farm king snowblower and I couldn't be happier with the results.
I bought everything I needed at surplus centre for under $500, you will have to make a bearing hanger for front of shaft and a bit of fabrication and remodelling but it not a very big job

I see more and more front hitches on ag tractors around here, usually for mowers to run double or triple. I have only seen one front mounted blower years ago, not recently. All the tractors with front hitches I see have blowers on the back. This doesn't answer your question, but perhaps there is a reason nobody else does it.

That's a pretty good idea and cost effective too.

I just saw a bunch with front blowers at my local fendt dealer I wonder if they are making a come back?
