Signs of Spring

Fantastic macro photo Eddy!! Well, since yesterday when there was 4" of the white stuff, its warmed up (52 deg), rained and now we have green grass, which was hiding under the snow, puddles and the making for a LOT of mud.

This morning when I was out for my walk, I saw the pear tree on what was my great, great granddaddy's homestead place was blooming. Since my cousin sold her pines, you can see it from the road. I walked across and took a few pictures. The tree looks like it could have been planted by him. It is more dead than alive. The fern is on one of the lower limbs.

Well, the sun is out today and my dog tracked in some mud. Does that count?

But it was below zero here last night.

Past week I've been hearing thousands of bull frogs. Last Monday it was around 80 degrees, and sunny; actually worked up a sweet working on water pump on truck. The live Oaks are dropping leaves, so that's as good sign. Coarse there could be another frost or freeze before winter really ends still.

My plum trees are budding, but they are calling for sleet tonight and tomorrow with Saturdays high in the low 60's. I need to plant potato and onions Saturday if its not too wet.

Larro, What is the stuff below the fern, rock weed? We have something that looks exactly like it here and it is called rock weed. Some of the greenhouses sell it with there succulents.

It grows on dead trees here, so I guess it feeds off the rotting bark. Not sure what the name is, but it's everywhere. It grows with the resurrection fern quite often.

Eighty degrees today. Out working in a tee shirt and shorts. Long term weather is not below 44* for the rest of the month and I'm at 3,500 MSL.

Peach trees bloomed about 2 weeks ago and grass is completely green.

I may be bragging now, but wait until summer when it's 110+!
