I was wondering if anyone could help me here. I have a 1960 John Deere 440 with the Detroit 2-53 loader and backhoe. All the pistons have been repacked new hydraulic pump installed a lot of hoses changed and a lot of extra parts . I want to get rid of that and 2 other smaller machines I have to get a new john deere 3520 or equivalent.

it is a tractor . it is a 5 spd . I don't believe there is a pto it is all original 1965 hrs on meter and on working order . The engine is untouched, the pistons that were re packed are all the hydraulic ones. It does have a reverser. what is the scv

I would recommend you try to find an antique enthusiast that might wan't to add it to their collection. Sites such as Yesterdaystractors might be the ticket. Here is a link to their values and only one 440ID is listed which isn't much to go on. Good luck with the sale.

I would guess the value at $5000-$7500 but equipment location plays a large part into value.

Thanks for that info. That's what I was kind of thinking. I don't use it and would love to keep it except it takes up a lot of space.
