Price Check JD 1050 4WD Price advice

I'm looking at a used, but nice and straight, JD 1050. Current older gentleman is the second owner, said hour gauge was broke when he got it. Any thoughts or things to look out for? I will add an aftermarket loader, probably Westendorf.

A couple of things to consider. head gasket and clutch engagement. Check for reduction of fluid in over flow bottle after tractor has run for a while. Put the tractor in a lower gear or reverse and see if it stalls out on quick release of clutch rather than "rolling on". Some of these things have had their clutch stick to the flywheel as a result of rusting together after not being used for a long period. If you put a loader on, it will be rather "bearish" to handle with a bucket full of dirt w/o power steering. I've seen one of these at a local fair ground that was used to cut grass. It had 13,000 hrs on it and still ticking. This series were some of the best tractors John Deere put their name to. Their weakness was hydraulic as they put rather small pumps on them. Loaders from the factory didn't lift as much as they should of as a result. It is apparently well taken care of. I hope it fits under wherever you're going to store it as a result of having a non foldable ROPS.

Worth about 7500 max. How many hours on the tractor before hour meter broke? New paint? Price all of the loader parts before you go with loader- you may to add more than just loader.
