2013 Kioti DK40SE HST, 1975? Ford 3000
I have been looking to buy a tractor for several years now. I did finally come to know that I am wanting to buy a DK40 or 45. The dealer I am closest to has always had several on the lot, But this past Sat I went and they had only one 45 and it was a cab. I questioned when they might get more in and they were going this week to get another several tractors but the warehouse was running low on the DK's. An email to another dealer a little further away stated the same thing and that he wasn't even sure if he could get anymore 40's. He told me that the DK's are in their last year and the new tier IV NX's are taking their place. But here is my BIGGEST question. I can buy now, BUT I will be much better (financially) ready to buy in the fall, I am afraid that, by then, the 40,45,and 50 will all but be gone, and I really have had my heart set on the DK line of tractors. Should I go ahead and expect to have to buy now or take my chances and wait it out? FYI the dealer that I emailed has a DK 50 shuttle w/FEL that he quoted for $23,360 (seemed like a good price to me).

I doubt if they last thru the summer.. People are buying them up because of the price increase on the Nx machines, and some folks don't want to be first with a new line of tractors. Lots of folks on here are buying them, and stating the above.

I'm +1 on the new technology I don't like having the first version of new products.

When I bought in 2012, knowing all of this was coming, it weighed on my mind and helped push me forward. You are on the downhill side now. There are some advancements to the Nx series as well as the Tier 4 emissions, but I can understand not wanting to be first. But someone has to be.:) One upside to the Tier 4 final is that the guys that have Tier 4 machines are reporting no diesel smell from their tractors. Fuel useage also seems to be about the same, or even a little better, certainly nothing to worry about at any rate. The only concerns are initial costs, and perhaps maint. costs down the road. But no-one has had one for long enough to really know.

Am I missing something? Are all of the Nx tractors, cab tractors? As nice as that is, a cab isn't really my choice, too much working in the woods for a cab. Unless I'm looking at the wrong tractor Kioti's web site shows them all cab.

the Rops tractors will out very soon, (spring 2014) according to a press release. They want to sell off all of the older stock.

You might look at Bobcat. My dealer still had a half dozen machines on his lot the last time I was there.
