Yeah, I shoulda searched first. Just found a ton of threads after I posted. Feeling kinda dumb. Wishing there were a delete thread option.

Maybe I'll edit the post to be something completely different so I don't look like such a dummy.

Somebody once had a question about using a PTO tiller with a Ford 8N and they were complaining about it having too fast a groundspeed to work correctly. I commented that "couldn't you use some sort of gear multiplier" to help with that? I was promptly informed of the Sherman transmissions that were common knowledge to vets of this sight that could be installed.
Felt how you feel know.

When I saw this thread title I was wondering if you maybe had some idea besides an actual PTO generator. Then I Lol'd when I read this. Don't feel bad though

Well, shucks, lets at least make this interesting.
What if you took a 1750 rpm 120v electric motor, built a pulley system for your pto to gear the pto speed up to about 1800rpms and spun the electric motor at that speed. The electric motor should produce 120v at about the same amperage the motor is rated at, and at the correct syne wave to power a similar sized electric tool. I mean really, there is no need to keep this simple.

Just remember that if you're going to plug the generator into your home electrical system to comply with the local codes. Most require a switching mechanism to prevent your re-energizing the mains coming into the house. You definitely do not want to blow the guy from the electric company fixing your downed lines out of his cherry picker 30 feet off the ground in sub-zero weather with the wind roaring at 30 mph.

What is the source of the reactive current to develop the magnetic field?
1800rpm is too slow.

I have done a little research into the use of induction motors for electricity production, but not enough to give any advice. Youtube has a ton of videos posted and the link I posted was just the first one that popped up while doing a quick search. I was searching for hydro production and am thinking about giving the induction motor a try.
