Currently using 4 link roller chains on 41x14-20 rear turf tires on asphalt mainly. Buying a FEL Snow Blade for next year, so I bought 2 link twist link chains for the front tires. The rear chains are 15 years old, plus I want the better ride/traction of 2 link. Are roller chains worth the extra $ or do the 3/8" twist links work fine??? Used on 400' paved driveway, plus some of the neighbors. Also I plow some trails in the woods/fields. Thanks.

roller chain is an entirely different animal it is the type of chain
used or garage door openers and motorcycles in this example

I think you mean a standard link chain used to
make snow, mud, and ice traction chains versus.
the heavy twisted link chain used in some cases
by some snow chain shops

The weight of the chain link and whether it has the V bar chain links is the important issue.

I will be replacing the current chains on my mule next year with my old V bar chains as they grip better. Even though I have the rears loaded on my JDLA115 it still spins too much when working losing traction. I will get the caster wheels on the beast before this coming snow season.

I meant by Roller Chain a 2 or 4 link ladder chain that has side chain "J" hooks so the cross chains can rotate and grab better as you drive. Usually they are more expensive too. Thanks for your response.
