Just bought and had a chance to use (from Amazon) a coupling for my grease gun that is called lock and lube. A bit pricey but worth the $$$ for ensuring that ujoints, and other fittings on my TLB with front mount snowblower get greased. The fitting has a trigger that opens the inside flange to fit over the zerk and then locks it in place while you grease it. No more grease all over the place and takes away the guess work as to whether you really got grease into your equipment.
Like I said it is pricey but a burned out bearing in a snowstorm can be pricier!

Sorry about duplicating a thread.....guess I missed that one. Anyway, it works great! Now when I grease the universals I am sure they are getting grease....

I have had unending problems getting grease into my PTO shaft universals for the bush hog. That and too much grease wasted on the loader fittings made me place an order for the coupling, just now. If this truly solves all my issues, thirty dollars is a fair price to pay. I've got my fingers crossed that the diameter of the coupling will fit inside the U-Joints......

looks like a good idea tool - the only thing that concerns me is that a lot of my Zerks are in tight spots...I wonder if this tool with it's spring and all will fit into certain areas. it would be a pain to swap out tips on a job

I would have two grease guns before I swapped tips back and forth. Harder to lose another grease gun than just the tip. I know I would lose the extra tip.

I'll report back on the U-Joint zerks, once I get mine. If it will fit there it will probably fit most anywhere.
