I keep coming back to the Kubota 6040 with a cab and fel. The same dealer the offered me that ls can get me a tier 3 for the same price but the Kubota (also 3) is coming in at 38,500 or 40k depending on rebate or financing.

The Kubota dealer will sell it to me without tax I think where as the LS guy wont so that's about 2,000, so is the Kubota worth 6k more with 0 for 60 than the LS?

I don't know the specs on that particular Kubota, so I don't know if it's a direct comparison to the LS you're looking at ... but if they are direct comparables, then the only person in the world that can say that one is worth $6000 more than the other, is you.

What I can say is this: I currently own a "new" Massey that might have something wrong with it ... a "clicking" sound coming from the engine that clicks with the key turned ...haven't figured it yet. I owned a Kioti that had 2 warranty repairs in the first few months. My uncle has a JD that needed a clutch earlier than expected. One of my best friends has had 2 brand new Kubotas, both have been back for warranty work within relatively short hours.

But ... I put 50 short hours on an LS R4041shuttle, and 150 well rounded hours on an LS R4047 HST, and they were perfect with the exception of a headlight fuse that blew.

My experience is not unique. You will find very few problems reported for LS tractors, including the rebranded Case & NH twins.

$6000 is a lot of money.

I'd chase down a used 2011 or newer Deer 5083E with power reverser.

If I didn't need a hydro, that's the biggest bang I've found.
