BX HST broken fan survey take 2

Guess it all depends on how you use your bx and how "careful" you are with them.

Reading most posts over the years where owners have 120hrs of use after 5 years leads me to believe that most owners don't necessarily NEED a BX; a riding mower would probably do.

Not judging as ALL are free to spend their hard earned $$ as they see fit!

While I am several hundred hours out of that category, hours aren't necessarily a good indicator of need factoring in the ability to pick up and move heavy objects etc.

Now I don't own a BX, but when I mentioned selling one of my wife's BX's, she made some pretty compelling points...:eek::laughing:

I think fan protection is like fire insurance for your house. You hope you never need it. How many of us have had house fires?
I filled it out... good job Eric. I agree that the fan protection is like fire insurance but I think the likelihood while maybe small is much greater than a house fire. Just my guess.

Dragoneggs;

Thank you! I made the survey on my phone using the Survey Monkey app.

I tend to disagree...

http://www.nfpa.org/research/reports-and-statistics/fires-in-the-us

House fires and deaths from them are real.

Haven't looked for stats in Canada but the country is 1/10 the population of the US therefore I don't know if the stats would correlate accordingly.

Wow! Interesting data... I didn't realize. Maybe I am wrong.. no! :shocked: Thanks for sharing that. My wife's son is a firefighter here in Washington State. I look forward to discussing with him. I think most of his calls are not fires but everything else. Don't get me wrong. I definitely believe in home insurance to cover fire!

Yup for sure. Texas yesterday and Boston today. Let's keep our thoughts with the firefighters @BostonFire as two of their own died today in a 9 alarm blaze. 58 respondents so far; I know there is more bx owners on TBN (or at least there seems to be)

Please complete if you haven't and I will make the results public to TBN members

Thanks

Eric, I don't own a BX (got a used L3130 being delivered tomorrow morning, to replace a fine B8200 that went to new owners last night) but I looked at your survey, and you've done a fine job. I have seen lots of surveys in my years, and yours is right to the point and inclusive.
Good luck.

Varmint;

Thank you for the compliment!

Congrats on the new L3130 and don't forget to post some pics when you get her.

Survey would only let me do one BX. I've owned 5 different BXs over 11 years and never broke the fans on any of them and never added any protection.

If you clear your browser cache and click the link you should be able to enter another. Clear and repeat.

Never thought about Multiple bx's by one owner.
