Buying Advice To Cab or Not to Cab

/ To Cab or Not to Cab #51
At 34 a tractor was only a twinkle in my eye. I have more than 30 years over you and have had a, cabless, tractor for about 10 years now with about 1/20 of your land. Don't wait 30 years if you don't have to. I am now thinking the same thing, get a cab, even if just to keep out of the blowing wind & snow. But it needs to be a fancy cab to keep the horse and deer flies, etc. out. ;)

Nope. It's kind of like the old saying that nobody ever got in a gunfight and went out the next day and bought a smaller caliber gun.

Or anyone in a gunfight said "you know I just have too MUCH ammunition":)

the ONLY time ive regretted my cab is when i had to regrade the overhang in the horse barn. The cab wouldnt fit.

my old JD870 just drove right thru it. But heck, ive had to grade it 2 times in 17 years.

If i have to do it again, ill have my buddy with his smaller Kubota trailer out here and take care of it for me.

I maybe to late. I have a 2013 Kubota B-2920, I bought new. I have a soft side cab with a heater of my own design. My cab cost $550, and heater around $200. In the summer I can remove the doors, rear curtain and windshield. Leaving the frame and top. A hard cab for my tractor was $3200. $750 or $3200? javahjoe, MIO, P K Junky, aka Don Indiana.

Hi everyone. So to follow this thread up. Went out to the dealer. It was 12 degrees out with a strong 10-15 mph wind. Hopped on a CK30 with no cab just to get a feel for the open station. Then hopped in the DK45 with cab. Cranked up the heat, moved some snow.

The DK will be delivered next week

I had chain hooks added to mine and three rear remotes and some other things, but I know it can get expensive really fast. I would strongly recommend a hydraulic top-link, I got my last one from Brian at FitRite.

Enjoy your new tractor and keep the camera handy.
