Best ATV and UTV trails

With summer approaching, I'm looking forward to riding some new trails here in Michigan and maybe traveling outside the state to ride.

Here is Michigan, friends and I usually travel north to where the majority of the long trails are located. The last trail we road was the Gladwin Trail which is about 23 miles. The trails consist mostly of forested routes with some sandy openings.

Where do you ride? I always thought that it would be fun to take a trip out west and ride all day and camp during the night in a remote location.

The hatfield and McCoy trail system in West Virginia is one of the better ones east of the Mississippi

If you want to come out west you might look into the Paiute trail system in Utah.

I too have heard good things about the Hatfiled McCoy trails.. but if you can get out west, I imagine that's big country..

They used to have an ATV show on TV that did reviews on all the trails offered in the USA, you may find something on the web.

The trails in the UP (Luce County) go on for miles and miles. I have only "accidentally" experienced them when getting lost in a full size 4x4 with a GPS that does not distinguish between roads and ATV trails and I assure you we did not see another road or blacktop for hours.

Just be prepared, it is a long way anywhere and last fuel stop is Newberry. Might be hours or days before anyone else might be coming down the trail. It was better when the Rainbow lodge was in existence. They had fuel much closer at hand and it was a hub of activity. They also put up 99% of the road signs which I assume the "government" meanwhile took down. Only activity I saw in the area was border patrol in their SUV's.

Yep - Hatfield and McCoy is some of the best trails in the East. Im fortunate to now live close to the trails and always enjoy a ride no matter the time of year.

The wife and I both had Yamaha Grizzly 700s SEs, 2007 models.
We road in Wisconsin most of the time, my parents live in EauClaire.
We would ride the area of Augusta, Black River, Thorp, Hurley,Monroe all in Wisconsin.
Very nice trails.
