More tax dollars being wasted trying to fix a problem created by wasted tax dollars (wolf re-introduction). Another remote area where wolves are just not working out, if they don't work in the most remote, natural areas how are they going to work out anywhere else? Fish and Game has been trying to encourage the public to harvest wolves in this area as they have decimated the elk population. Leaving the wolf season open year-round etc. has not helped as it is pretty remote, they finally had to pay professional hunters:

This thread is about the end of civilization. You want this thread: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/rural-living/304419-wolves-yellowstone.html

Your definition of "work out" would be interesting. As far as I can tell, "work out" means selling elk hunting licenses. That is wildlife management for profit.

Are animals evacuating the Yellowstone basin?

サ Are Animals Evacuating Yellowstone National Park?

Having been to Yellowstone several times and plan on being there in August I can tell you that is a normal event. The Buffalo will move as a group amid traffic and I have seen cars stopped and the Buffalo running among the cars to get to their destination. They may run back the other way later in the day. I believe there is no Volcano as such but the area in general is a Caldera covering hundreds on square miles.

The animals have lived in the area for centuries without the USGS creating a panic among them. Yellowstone is hard on animals. They have a terrific die-off each year. The only ones that do well are the Carnivores "bear and wolves"

I feel the same way, but after reading this thread a while back, I thought I would add some fuel to the fire...

This happened today (3/30). If this thing blows it will be the end of civilization as we know it!

"YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) A 4.8 earthquake shook the northern part of Yellowstone National Park early Sunday.

The University of Utah Seismograph Stations reports the earthquake occurred at 6:34 a.m. about 4 miles north-northeast of the Norris Geyser Basin. The university reports it was felt in the Montana border towns of West Yellowstone and Gardiner, both about 20 miles from the epicenter.

There were no immediate reports of damage. There are few visitors in the park this time of year.

Yellowstone sees frequent small earthquakes. Since Thursday, there have been at least 25 recorded in the nation's first national park."
