I was installing my 54" blade hydraulics when i noticed the hole for the loader attaching bar isnt there anymore in the frame! any info or if anyone know is there an update or kit to make the laoder attachment work? Thanks guys and Loving my beast......

As of yet, no.

John Deere changed the frame design on purpose, and one of the reasons for it was to eliminate the option of a loader for the X700 series. From a business perspective, the X700 series with a loader is almost identical to the 1 Series machine. That leaves John Deere with two machines that are way too close together in features, specs, and pricing. It's bad business. Heck, the 1 series can be had with a loader and 3PT, cheaper, then an X700 with those items added. I haven't actually measured one myself, but apparently the new machines have a thinner frame. Personally, I don't believe the frame is thinner, just a different design.

My advice is, if you want a loader, buy a 1 series, or buy another machine down the road.

Anybody bout a CTC loader? What do you think of it?

Wow, now thats what I'm talking about!! Thanks Ernie!!

I really must stress to you one point. Remember this is a garden tractor, it isn't designed to be used with a front end loader. It isn't a sub compact.

I think using a loader on an X700 series is a bit too much stress on the machine, it's just not built for that.

The x700 series was tough before the added frame enhancements in design of the ultimate X700 series, so to offer a loader before and not no its plain dumb and mostly a ruse to get is the consumer to buy more equipment. I had a 1023e which I got rid of because it was too big for what I needed it for. If I was doing serious loader or backhoe work, I would of kept it. But for the ocasional light loader work, it doesn't get any better than to unhook the loader and immediately go out and cut grass without having to tear up my yard from a sub. These machines are massively overbuilt and are perfect for light occasional loader work. If they weren't designed to handle it, then the loader wouldn't of been an option from in the first place and I've already placed an order for one.

And also because the demand just isnt high enough. Who knows, maybe we'll see a new updated "40" loader for the ultimate series soon.

I can see adding a loader for light materials such as lawn debris but don't think I would attempt to move full buckets of gravel. Heavy loader use would require more ballast than I would wan't on a mower. I prefer to keep my mower as light as possible to protect the lawn areas.

I think the X7 series can handle the little loaders that would fit it. After all they can only hold and lift so much. The one thing that might concern me is the front axle. Not sure it's made to take the 900 or so pounds (loader and load). But if just using for mulch and some light work. It's far superior to a wheel barrow and less impactful to the lawn than a bigger tractor.

As for counterweight, you just have to be set up to easily add/remove weights, like with suitcase weights and a weight bracket. I have about 500 lbs hanging on the back of mine. Can easily remove it, if I wanted/needed to.

My conjecture is that JD can't sell enough loaders to justify the engineering and logistics costs associated with mfg. and inventory management to make the loader a break even proposition. If you really need a loader, the 1-series would be a better choice for about the same money. Just doesn't make a lot of sense to sell them both.

The X758 is roughly the same size as the Simplicity Legacy XL which does have the FEL as an option. I would agree also that JD probably doesn't want to eat into their 1 series sales by offering the FEL with the X700 series.

I have a CTC loader on my x720 and it will handle just about anything that I can fit into the bucket. The trick is to have the right ballast weight in the back, I have about 430 lbs and have the THRV installed. My CTC is the handiest attachment. This weekend I will be moving 15 yards of mulch with it and last Monday I cleared snow using it.

I've been doing a little investigating myself. I just bought a John Deere X749 (2011 model year). I'd also like to put a front end loader on. The 45 is the loader made for that tractor series (700 series) but not the X749 (this is another issue). The CTC loader the other members are speaking about - I've inquired about myself. I was able to watch the videos offered on there website and it looks like a very capable loader. They offer an upgrade to their loader which allows it to lift more and I believe cycle faster. Their loader is also manufactured to follow the contour of the X series tractors up to 2011 - 2012. The new John Deere 700 series is no longer the ultimate or select series but they are called the "Signature" series. From what I've read, the signature series may have a thinner steel frame with added supports (more steel) at points of interest (where load bearing strength is critical). Their loader looks good (it is powder coated John Deere green, line bored which means all holes should line up for a simple install). I believe it is worth taking a look at via the internet and the company is more than willing to take questions and get back to you with answers to those questions (they did for me).
This is their website www.compacttactorsandcomponents.com. Their email with questions is CTCllc@msn.com
You can go there and look at all their info and you can reach out to them.
Hope this helps you.

I suspect the reason that Deere doesn't wan't to sell the 45 fel on the x749 is liability related. Since the 4ws can turn rather quickly a high load might upset the tractor, if you are aware of this and careful then no reason you can't make them work for you.

This morning I have to go out with a helper and load about 20 yards of pine needles into my dump trailer by hand. Not having my tlb close enough to the site this is a case where a fel on my 749 would be handy to have.

I can't say enough good things about the experience I had purchasing my CTC loader for my x720. It shipped early, was easy to assemble and works great. It is a great labor saver. The cost of the CTC is almost the same as the 45 when you consider that you need to purchase the THRV.
